Yeah, it’s 2012. Blogs are so 2001. I think I’ve been through just about every blogging platform since the dawn of web logs and never kept a single one in operation. I even had a DeadJournal because my mom wouldn’t let me use her credit card to buy a LiveJournal account.
Anyway, back to the point of this. As I just said, it’s 2012. Since the end of the world is coming pretty damn soon, I figure I might at least work on a real, consistent, interesting blog. Definitely a bucket-list-worthy activity. And just to set the tone for this blog, if you didn’t pick up on the sarcasm in this paragraph, you’re probably not going to like or get this blog. It’s cool, we don’t have to like each other.
Lastly, since this is a first post, an introduction is in order. I’m Sarah Mick. I’m a designer who recently moved from the Midwest to the lovely West Coast - specifically San Francisco. I love Hollywood more than anything in the world, but design and my boyfriend keep me in SF (and sane). I design all sorts of things that you can check out on my design website: sarahmick.com
Like most design ladies, I’m into cats. I’m not ashamed of the fact that I adore ultra-feminine design and chalk it up to nuture rather than nature. I love horror movies and staying indoors. I try to run sometimes and wish I was better at it. My goal with this blog is to think, write it out, even if it’s not perfect, and get some critical observations, critiques and thoughts regarding design and life on the Interwebz.
